Tron Version: M3.1

This is a the 2D concept character sheet I am going from when I start modeling. I really like the pattern. Is the one thing that attracts me about the new Tron movie was the cool patterns on their suit. I made my pattern to be more round because I want him to be agile and athletic. I choosed yellow because I like that color but that can always change.

Concept Character Design Progression

This is a side by side comparison of my two best designs.

I thought I was finished with my concepting but then again I started to look at the stripes and I wonder what else can I do to make him look "cool". I elaborated on the stripes even more and made the stripes look more like a big tribal tattoo. After seeing references  from tribal tattoos I really was captivated by  the Samoan native's tattoos from Hawaii. So I combined the stripes and drew them more like a Samoan warrior would have them. I also drew him without gear to make him look more in-tune with nature. This he can be a warrior that fights with his bare fist instead of using a weapon.

In this image I kept the more cat like design from the previous one. I added a scarf because frankly I think it would look cool how the scarf will move as it waves through the air as the character is moving. I added a weapon more specifically a staff because a staff is gentle looking but it can be a dangerous weapon when swinged for an attack. Something sort of like the essance of the character.

In this design I was going more towards appeal. I drew him with a mohawk because a  mohawk is more of a contemporary hairstyle among young males. This made his look new, fresh and tough. I leaned toward a more feline approach and shaped his hands more into paws. I didn't drew any stripes because I wanted to try out how it looked without them(but I ended up missing them).

This is closer to what I had in mind. I drew him with long hair and for the most part he looks like a male character. In this image I tried to have his body have more human features to make him look more like a human boy. I added the stripes on his body to prevent the loss of the design on the character(after all he is more cat-like than human).

This is more of a goof. I was going to draw this character with long hair and I ended up what it began to look like a female character. It was not what I was trying to do but it helped me on my next drawing.

In the first picture the faces were more feline that I would have liked but I did liked the one in the upper left hand corner. I really liked the stripes under his eye so I continued this design in this image. The one in the lower right hand corner was the perfect face to start my design of this character. He looks young and he has the perfect mixture of cat and human features that I am looking for.

This is a cat like humanoid creature. He lives in a kingdom where monkey-esque creatures rule the land. His village was destroyed by these monkey-esque creatures(who claim high superiority). Being the sole survivor of his village he was rescued and guided by a mysterious friend who teaches him the ways of an ancient martial art culture to seek revenge  on behalf of his family and the violent acts committed on the kingdom by the monkey-esque creatures. He very young and in-experience who learns the ways of martial arts to fight monkey-esque creatures who have the latest weapon  technology and are a  very advance civilization and threaten to destroy anything that stands in their way.
